Drach Caves

The visit to the Drach Caves lasts approximately one hour. From the entrance, you will find a route that will take you towards the lake while you cross explanatory signs that reveal historical facts and curiosities about this cave, such as its lighting project, which has been in use since 1935. Once at the lake, after the concert, you can cross the lake by boat or across the bridge, at no extra cost.

What attractions you will find during your visit: 

1. Lake Martel: One of the largest underground lakes in Europe, it has a stage where daily concerts are held. The lake has a boat tour that adds a special experience to the magical surroundings of the cave. 

2. Underground concert: On the shores of Lake Martel, musicians perform classical pieces that are brought to life by the natural acoustics of the underground environment, creating a truly magical and moving atmosphere. 

3. Boat trip: After the concert, you can tour the lake in a small boat, which allows you to appreciate the crystal-clear waters and the play of light on the stalactites and stalagmites at close quarters. 

4. Stalactite and stalagmite formations: Dating back millions of years, these caves are a remarkable example of how nature sculpts underground landscapes with impressively shaped stalactites and stalagmites. Along the tour, you will observe natural formations with unique colours and shapes that create a landscape that is hard to find. 

5. Illumination show: The caves have a lighting system that highlights the formations and the lake, transforming the space into a visual spectacle, without altering its natural character. 

The Drach Caves are located a very short distance from the picturesque village of Porto Cristo, making it possible to combine the visit with a day of sightseeing along the east coast of Mallorca.

Where to park:  

If your main destination is the Drach Caves, you will have at your disposal a large free car park located right in front of the entrance. This car park has shaded areas, offering comfort and protection for your vehicle while you enjoy your visit.

The Drach Caves are very close to the village of Porto Cristo, less than 2 kilometres from the centre. This makes it perfectly feasible to park in the village and walk to the caves, especially if you are in low season or prefer to combine your visit with a stroll around the town. Bear in mind that some areas have regulated parking (ORA blue zone), which implies an additional cost. Check the signage when parking to avoid any mishaps.
