In the heart of Menorca’s southern coast, you’ll find two of its most iconic coves: Cala Macarella and Cala Macarelleta. These natural gems, with crystal-clear waters and surrounded by towering cliffs covered with pine trees, are the perfect place for those looking to disconnect in a paradise-like setting. Cala Macarella, larger and more family-friendly, serves as the entrance to its smaller sister, the intimate Macarelleta, known for its tranquil atmosphere and irresistible turquoise waters.
Getting to Cala Macarella and Macarelleta by car is an ideal option to fully enjoy your experience. During high season, access is regulated, but there is nearby parking with shuttle service to the entrance of Cala Macarella. From there, a short walk will take you to this spectacular beach, and a charming trail, surrounded by nature, connects to the picturesque Macarelleta.

6. Watch the sunset: Stay until the end of the day and enjoy a magical experience. The orange tones of the sunset over the turquoise waters create an unforgettable postcard.
Where to park
Parking in the Cala Macarella area: There is a large public parking lot at the entrance of the cove, about 15-20 minutes on foot from the beach. During high season, it fills up quickly, so it’s best to arrive early.
Parking near Cala Macarelleta: To reach Cala Macarelleta, you’ll need to walk from Cala Macarella. There is no specific parking at the cove, so you’ll need to leave your car at the Cala Macarella parking lot and then walk along a trail that connects both coves.
